Christy O'Connor is without question Irelands most famous international sports star.

As a professional golfer his ability and achievements have earned him respect and admiration of his fellow players, from the era of his reign to todays headline makers.

Born in Knocknacarra, a small village close to Galway City, Christy has blazed a glory trail throughout the golfing world, and captured the heart of the Irish nation through his marvellous Performances.

Christy holds his place in the Guinness Book of Records for his ten Ryder Cup appearances. He has represented his country in the Canada Cup, now known as the World Cup, on fifteen occasions and shares the record of ten wins in the Irish Championship with his late, great friend, Harry Bradshaw. Among his many notable successes are two Dunlop Masters titles, four Carrolls International and the John Player Classic.
He has been six times European Senior champion and twice World Senior champion
